Topics include characteristics required of an American Red Cross representative and role model; applicable first aid, CPR and AED skills at an appropriate skill level; ensure participants’ health and safety during training; how to maintain complete and accurate records and reports; and plan, organize and conduct the first aid, CPR and AED courses in accordance with the requirements of the specific class the trainer will be teaching.

Instructors already holding a valid Red Cross certification should enroll only for this Train-the-Trainer course and not for the certification course scheduled for March 9.

Open to local union instructors who plan to teach First Aid/CPR/AED. Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (this is received by successfully completing the CPR/First Aid/AED course). A CPR/First Aid/AED certification course will be held the day before the instructor course for those who do not have a current certification.
