This is a one week course, the class will run 6 consecutive days, Monday - Saturday, 10 hours a day. This class is intended for an operator who has had some experience working on the ROW utilizing a sideboom. Previous attendance in the 3 week pipeline sideboom course is recommended but not reqiured.
Subjects to be covered are as follows:
1. Recognize the proper skid sets to set pipe on.
2. How to properly roll a joint of pipe
3. How to properly feed the pipe into the bending machine
4. Recognize hazard/pinch point areas
5. How to properly lay out/set up pipe joints on the ROW after the joints have been bent
6. How to properly tow the bending machine
7. Be able to recognize a good spot to set up the bending machine on the ROW
8. How to properly lift a joint of pipe while it is in the bending machine
9. How to properly remove a joint of pipe from the bending machine after it is bent.
10. Safety and vocabulary of the bending/set up operations
